Thirteen academics of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) have been named by Clarivate Analytics in its list of “2020 Highly Cited Researchers” as the most influential in the world. Their works have been highly cited by fellow academics and are hence making a significant impact in ongoing research in their respective fields of study.

- AACYF (All American Chinese Youth Federation) Top 30 under 30
2019 March – Former HKU Mentee, Roger Luo Jie 羅杰, who was educated at both HKU and the California Institute of Technology, has been awarded one of the “AACYF (All American Chinese Youth Federation) Top 30 under 30” this year in the Art, Culture, Science Category. This award recognises the most influential and talented Chinese American and Chinese students in the States.

Roger is a former mentee of Professor Brown during his exchange at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2013. He graduated from HKU BSc (Physics and Mathematics) in 2014 with First Class Honours, and is a PhD candidate and research assistant at the California Institute of Technology.
